Went to super dump to recycle batteries, monitors, motherboards and metal - came home with this

Dropped off old stuff yesterday and brought in a humongous tank for Biodiesel, then immediately went to the back of a favorite local restaurant (where I eat often). I blew a fuse on my $130 diesel pump pushing 700 pounds of rice oil into this tank last night, then unloaded the tank and oil, then packed 3/4 ton of concrete my truck the next day. This truck was made in 1984 when they still put tie downs on the outside of the bed...so useful as you can see. …See More

A new electric airplane took flight yesterday

A totally electric powered small airplane did a test flight on a runway much like the Wright brothers. The sleek yellow aircraft is shown in a video taxiing, then he takes off and gains about 30 feet, then descends and lands. This is the first test of what can be an affordable kit plane built on a popular chassis.http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/12/new-diy-electric-airplane-takes-flight/See More

I just checked it out and saw this amazingly dirty water that they flushed out of their hot water heater. I'm thinking about a high colonic for my water heater now...

Taiwan wants to build electric cars. Lots of them. The gov't will invest and support the private industry as it gets started.

Green Companies List

I would like to start a green companies list. Maybe a blog, but would rather a forum where we could all add to it.Formatting would be standardized for comparison: name, location, greenfeatures, and personal evaluation or rating or even reviews. We have a chance to get a behind the scenes tour of our local recycling facility, we hope to get video of that. There is a potential meeting with the VP of new Biodiesel refinery fromOakland in the works. I would also add my local Biodiesel suppliers…See More

I agree bro, there should be a individual moratorium on all our purchases, I have done this myself and purchased much less, with stricter criteria for purchases, ie. do I need it, can it be found used, what is the impact on this purchase, where did…

Our planet

We are the stewards of our planet. It is not our duty to rape our planet of it environmental riches but to preserve them for a future generation to marvel, behold and enjoy. It is not our duty to profit and capitalize while turning our air from blue to a hazy brown all in the name of profits for investors.

Think about the things we purchase…

Earth Day #40

Today is the day. Personally I stretched up towards the sun, and bent down to the earth, experiencing the realization that I am part of the Earth, animated by the Sun.

The elements of stardust gathered by gravity into a ball and cooled to become rocks, showered with water from comets, thus becoming our Earth.

The sun showers our Earth with energy and breathes the water and the rocks to life.

That life eventually stands upon the surface and contemplates who and how and… Continue

Jenner Headlands is to be "protected forever" in the single largest land conservation purchase in Sonoma County!

This 5,630 acre area where the Russian River joins the Pacific Ocean, north for 2.5 miles up Hwy 1, and east going up the Russian River for miles, is full of microclimates, habitats, and protected species. On top of that, it's a wonderful hiking area, which will not be bought up and cordoned off with expensive sprawling homes.

This announcement was made Dec. 17th, 2009, what a wonderful day, not only for Sonoma County, but for the country, and ultimately, the world. This area could… Continue

Electric Cars....What are your thoughts?

I have been seeing ZAP cars for several years locally (Sonoma County). Take a look:
http://www.zapworld.com/electric-vehicles/offroad-ev/zap-dude

Are there any non green (ill) effects resulting or published reports discussing the use of electric "cars"?
Thanks , Kamp (Thea)
